All About Story Two

In general, this story is going to be about former HCC Hawk now USF Bull Katie Hahn and her experience with transferring to a public Florida University. As there are many students here at HCC who are waiting by their phones, computers, and mailboxes waiting for those acceptance letters to universities like Florida State, University of North Florida, or University of South Florida like Hahn did. In this profile on Hahn students will be getting the insider dos and don’ts on what you need to do when you get accepted and eventually transfer. During her time at HCC Hahn was entered into the FUSE program which allows students from a post-secondary education establishments that lets students get their associates before going to a four-year university. When researching the FUSE Program on the internet, a student who wishes to transfer, a student must have 2.0 GPA and finish their degree within 3 years of starting at the institution where they will obtain their AA.

  1. Miche, I love that you interviewed someone who is so relevant to HCC students. A lot of students do not know about the FUSE program and it is such an amazing opportunity for those who wanted to make the transfer form high school to college a little smoother. HCC offers so many opportunities for their students that a lot of people do not utilize. I look forward to hearing more about this interview!

  2. Excited to see what comes of this story, Lord knows I could use the advice, as I’m coming up to that point in my college career where I’m looking to transfer. It’d be great to maybe learn something useful about the process that could potentially help me out. Also this FUSE program you mentioned… Seems like something people outta know more about.

  3. I appreciate the idea of hearing from a former HCC student who transferred to USF. Oftentimes, students enroll in HCC without planning which four-year institution they will be transferring. These can result in students taking unnecessary elective courses, and transferring from HCC with over 70 or 80 credit hours. I am sure hearing from Katie can be useful to current HCC students. I am looking forward to read the final product.

  6. Miche, great job looking out for the rest of us who are lost in the transfer process. This interview is everything I need to know for next semester. I wish I were in the loop on programs like FUSE and wasn’t worrying about what I’m going to do next semester. I probably should be checking my phone every five minutes for an acceptance letter. Too bad I forgot to apply to a university.
